I was just thinking, what would you think if they did something like the Hardcore Championship for ECW now? I think, since it's ECW and all, it sould live up to it perfectly and would possibly draw in more viewers advertising it. What do You guys think?

ECW is already marketed as the Extreme brand, so advertising would probably be impacted very little. From a personal point of view, I'd be more interested in seeing the ECW Hardcore champion in action than ECW Champion himself. I tuned into ECW to see wicked spots, chair shots, crimson masks, and the baddest motherfuckers in the game do what no one else has the balls to do. However, the 'new' ECW is following the WWE philosophy of protecting their personel and avoiding the plethora of wicked spots that were so abundant in old ECW. On the flipside, they have a deeper, more talented roster now, with fresher characters and more of an emphasis on outside the ring mic work.
Personally, I'd like to see a group of Hardcore Extremists who might blow too many spots, but are 100% heart, and willing to wrestle for the love and brutality of it. The promo's will be terrible. The characters will suck. The commentators will be annoying. But I'd put up with it all to see these guys give it their all, for the fans, for recognition by WWE/TNA, or just for the love of Hardcore.
Sadly, in this era of protected assets, no one is willing to throw one of their superstars to the dogs, risking premature injury ending a promising career.
My 2 cents.

^^ What he said, and they already tried that. Foley and Edge retained.
